Dr. Bill Lands of the NIH has created an algorithm to predict what ratio of omega 3 to omega 6 will be found in body tissue, as a function of what we eat. He furthermore created a downloadable software package that the public can use to create and monitor the food we actually eat as an educational tool, utilizing the algorithm.
